Saving Lives

My wife and I attend Calvary Chapel in Murrieta California.  This is a wonderful Christian church lead by Pastor Brian Bell.

Our Church mission statement is:
  • To love God completely
  • To love people authentically
  • To make disciples globally
A wonderful mission statement for us all to live by don't you think!
Our Church has missionaries in many parts of the world spreading the word of God and helping those in need.
Very recently, only a couple weeks ago, pastor Brian shared with us the current challenges the people of Cambodia are facing today, right now!  A huge problem is the very sad and disgusting exploitation of children in the sex trade.  My wife and I could not shake the sadness we both felt for these people.  This brought us to a conversation about her dad, my father-in-law.  He was a leading doctor for the United Nations, and in the late 1970's he saved countless lives in Cambodian refugee camps.  He developed triage methods used in these camp hospitals that are still being used today.

The link below is a video clip of a national news cast with Mike Wallace.  It is a very interesting video to watch, but if you want to forward to where the interview with my dad begins forward to minute 8:03

We are very proud of the work he did to help so many people in Cambodia.  And we are also proud of our church and its missionaries that are helping today!
